STone

Características generales
STone is CAREL’s latest development environment, designed to manage every stage of HVAC/R software development, allowing a team of professionals to work together on the same project, increasing the efficiency of everyone involved through flow- and team-based development.
Development environment:
STone: easy to use, fast development times, and high software quality.
There are many features implemented in STone to support software developers in this regard:- ST (structured text) language: this is a standard language described in IEC 61131-3 rev.3. The main advantage of using a standard language is a faster learning curve for developers who are new to the CAREL solution.
- Standard libraries: the STone development environment offers a wide range of libraries available to software developers to simplify their work, save time, and increase control logic quality. STone users can also create custom libraries. This allows developers to save tried and tested custom routines and then reuse them several times in the same or different software.
- Team working: STone was created to integrate easily with the most popular versioning systems available on the market, so as to best respond to the needs of our customers, in a context where projects are developed by teams whose members often do not work in the same location or even in the same country.
- On-target debugging via USB or Ethernet port, thanks to the availability of a complete test suite (unit testing, automatic tests and non-regression tests).
Command line tools:
- Sparkly: used to program the controller by loading the application program and writing individual parameters and/or parameter configurations.
Commissioning tool:
- Applica Desktop: used for unit commissioning and maintenance.
The STone platform also integrates the features required by market standards in terms of IT security to protect CAREL’s programmable controls against unauthorised access, unwanted manipulation and other potential risks, with the aim of safeguarding industrial processes and ensuring the security of everyday operations.
